ok, these are really good tips on how to find Rockhopper on club penguin. First let me tell you a little about Rockhopper. He is a red penguin with a costum pirets hat, and black berd. He sails the seas looking for teasure. Just recently his ship crashed. Also he is a Piret Penguin. He has a pet red puffle named Yarrr. He useally says at a spote for mybe 10 minutes. Now let me tell you how to find him. You can find him only when he is at clubpenguin his ship sould be parked at the beach. To see if he is logged on just type in his Username and then just a random password. When it says "Baneded Forever" that means that he is not online. When it says "Incorrect password" That means that he is online! Rockhopper useally just goes around servers haveing fun with other penguins, you will just have too check every server. Remeber he has the option on his player card to change servers. His favorite server is Mammoth. When you meet him, click on his player card and click on the winking smile face. Then he would give you a background. Do waste time going to his home all it is, is the ship! Thats pretty much it on Rockhopper. Hope I helped!

Ok, the server crashed already. We took the sledding game offline until we can solve the out of memory problem. Here is a list of bugs we are currently working on:

Hello Penguins. I disabled the hockey puck and restarted the server. We are trying to find the source of our memory leak. We believe the memory leak is causing the server to have connection problems. If you are unable to connect to the server please try again in a couple minutes. We hope to have this bug squashed soon.

Hello Penguins, We just wanted to thank you all for a great first week of beta testing. Believe it or not, we were able squish over 20 bugs last week, and we are currently going through the game piece by piece to find the remaining ones. Hopefully you will see even more fixes this week! Thanks again to all of you who are submitting your bugs. Please keep reporting even if you’ve reported a bug already. It helps us fix it faster.

Are you going to add more clothes and furniture?
Yes! We are planning on changing the catalog every month once we launch.
Are you going to add more games?
Yes! We have five more games in production and others that we hope to add every few months once we launch.
After testing do we get to keep our account?
Yes! You will not have to sign up again, and your name will stay the same. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to keep all your stuff because we will need to rebuild the catalog, but we will give you some bonus coins to thank you for beta testing that should get you started again.
Can we play hockey?
Yes! We are working on the physics engine to make the puck more accurate.
Can you add more rooms?
Yes! We are already working on a snowball fight arena (thanks for the idea!) and others.
Can you add beds?
No, don’t you watch the discovery channel? Penguins sleep standing up.
Why are the prices so high for stuff and how can I earn coins faster?
We are still working on the prices and we will update them when we launch. There will be more ways to earn coins at launch and the earning for each game will be more balanced.
Why can’t we earn more coins for sled racing?
See the question above. We’re just glad its working now!
Will there be more people in sledding?
Yes! The game was built to handle 4 players and we hope to update that soon.
How do we find our buddies?
We are working on a ways to make finding your buddy easier. We are also working on a messaging system to send IM to your buddys.

Added Snow Forts – Prepare for Battle!
Added New Igloos – You may need to move your furniture.
Added Mail Boxes to streamline the buddy system. You can now receive multiple buddy requests, and they will not interrupt your chat. This also will allow for future instant messaging.

BIG PARTY!!!!
Wednesday, 3pm-5pm (GMT / Europe) & 3pm-5pm (pacific / North America)
We’re having a party! Why you ask? Well, mostly because we felt like we needed some fun in the middle of all this testing, but also, it will allow us to perform one of our final tests, size! Since we began beta testing, we have never had more than 50-100 penguins on at one time, but we need to try and get as many people on as possible. So we said, “The best way to get lots of penguins together is to have a party!” If the server crashes, it means it was a GREAT PARTY! Best of all, if you are at the party, you will get a free party hat for your penguin.
We have decided to have two party times because we have so many penguins around the world. If you live in the UK it will be from 3pm-5pm and if you live on the west coast of the US or Canada, it will be from 3pm-5pm as well. If you need help knowing what time that is for you, ask a parent or teacher.

Beta Test Party
Hello Happy Penguins!
Thanks again for another great week of beta testing! This week we squashed a lot of bugs. Some were ones you see, others were ones you don’t see like loading speeds, etc. Believe it or not, we have almost completely rewritten the game since the beginning of the beta test to make things faster with less bugs.
This week’s big challenge is the Sled Racer game. We have been working hard and we’re nearing the finish line. The big improvements will be seen in an all new game entrance, finish line results, and the coolest part, having 4 racers instead of 2.
Thank you all for being so patient. When we first started the beta test, we had no idea what bugs we would find. With your help, we feel like we’re almost ready for launch. We don’t want to give an official launch date until we make sure that all of these new features work properly, but just know that we’re almost there.

We’re almost there!
Hello Penguins!
We just wanted to give you an update on the last week of beta testing and say thanks for a great party. Good news, we didn’t crash the server. In fact other than some slowdowns (because we had over 70 people in one room), the party was great.
Here is a list of items we are working on:
– Sled Racing Bugs
– Find Buddy
– Newspaper content
– Coin bugs
This week you won’t see a lot of fixes as we are working hard at the final stages for launch. We are fine tuning some behind the scenes things like the new website, help section, a “how to get started” animation, and moderator tools so we can launch as soon as possible. We are hoping to launch within the next two weeks. Stay tuned for an official launch date.
We have had a few people upset about how many coins are given away in the games. We want to give you a little secret. After launch, with the help of memberships, we will be able to put a lot of time into developing and launching new games and (hint) other ways to get coins. With time, there will be so many ways to get coins you won’t care how many you get from each game. Until then, keep on bug-hunting!

Weekend updates…
Hello Penguins!
We just updated to version 0.97 that should fix the following bugs:
– fixed mancalla cheat (sorry folks)
– fixed astro barrior cheat (this one was tougher to find)
– fixed some character sliding
Were still trying to solve the not getting coins bug after playing a game. Please keep reporting it as we think we are close.
The newest features of this update are the find a buddy (yea!) and we also upgraded one of the servers so the chat should be faster.
To keep the chat safe and fun for everyone, we have started using live moderators. They are currently not on all the time (but will be soon). They see everything that is typed so if you get a report it doesn’t mean someone reported you, it might have been caught by a moderator. Please follow the rules to avoid your account being removed.
Starting Monday we will allow open chatting from 8am to 8pm pacific time. You will be able to do everything else during that time, but you wont be able to open chat. Please use the easy-chat system to talk during those times. We are also expanding easy-chat to allow you to say even more!

Good News and Bad News…
Whenever someone asks me that, I always want to hear the bad news first so here goes.
Over the last couple of weeks, we have been battling with how to handle this whole cloning problem. Some of you may be wondering “what cloning problem?” Well, when someone sets up multiple accounts its called cloning. Its one thing to have one or two, but many people have set up a lot more accounts. It is a problem for many reasons.
1- It uses up resources and slows down the whole chat. Because one person is taking up so much server power, it makes it worse for everyone
2- It makes it difficult to remove bad players. The agents and moderators have been doing a great job reporting when people are acting un-safe or using bad language. Unfortunately, we have watched a lot of people get kicked or banned and then just log in under a different account and keep breaking the rules. This wrecks it for everyone and makes us consider just using easy-chat only (which we tried for 12 hours last week).
3- It slows down development. When we are trying to manage accounts and someone has been cloning, it takes a lot more time, which means less time for making new games, etc.
Because of this slow-down, we probably wont hit our 2-week goal for launch and we didn’t want to launch until this was dealt with.
Now for the good news, we have found a solution and rsnail and the team are working frantically (almost 20 hr days) to get it programmed and tested. It will require accounts to be authenticated using emails. Those of you who have ever played neo-pets will know what we are talking about. Basically it is the best way to solve this problem and it should be launched soon.
Thanks for your patience and we hope the wait hasn’t been too painful. We will announce more details like the memberships soon. Until then, waddle-on!

We finally launched the account activation tool. Please read the instructions and follow them closely. Everyone must activate their account in order to use Club Penguin. Please make sure you only activate the account that you want to keep, all other accounts will be deleted soon. If you have any problems, please submit them to the bug report, we don’t want to fill the news section with bug reports.
This was a big step toward launch. We have a few more issues to deal with, but this was one of the biggest. Thanks again for your patience.

Activation Help!
Hello Penguins,
We have had some people who are having trouble getting their activation codes. We have learned that Yahoo and Hotmail will almost always dump the activation email into the “Bulk” folder or the “Junk” folder. Please check those folders in your email program to find the activation code.
We have also learned that a lot of people enter email addresses that don’t exist or that dont recieve email. Please make sure you enter a valid email address.
Also, you must activate your account (through the email) before you can get onto Club Penguin. This has changed from Penguin Chat. If you have tried everything and you still can get on, try this:
Try to login and when you get to the page with that says “Activation Required”
Please click on “lost your code” to get it resent.
If that still doesn’t work, send an email to support@clubpenguin.com

Ever since we launched Club Penguin, we have tried to explain that free accounts can still do a lot in Club Penguin. Club Penguin free accounts give you unlimited access to great games, lots of rooms, amazing snowball fights, and much more. But we felt the free accounts were still missing something that Penguin Chat 3 had… COLOR. So we decided to make some changes. Starting immediately, free accounts will get the opportunity to buy different colors for your penguin!
Also! We decided to give you one better by allowing everyone in Club Penguin the opportunity to have their own igloo. You won’t be able to decorate without becoming a member, but you can invite your buddies over for a party!

Some of you may have noticed that the gift shop gets a little crowded everytime we relase some clothing, so we added another store. I won’t tell you where it is to make it a bit more fun, but many have already found it.

We released a new update today that should fix a few issues and make most of you very happy.
Room Router: Some of you may have already noticed, but recently we built a room router. What is a room router you ask? Well, because the town was getting too full, we made the game start (or rout) you in a different part of Club Penguin if the town gets too full. This makes it quicker to join the game because there are less penguins to load when you first start. This also spreads penguins out a bit more which makes it better for everyone.
Issue Fix: We found out that some of the log-in or “lost connection” errors are related to HUGE buddy lists. Some people have over 2000 buddies. It is great that you have so many friends, but it means the server has to check through the entire list before it lets you on. In order to fix that, we had to limit the buddy lists to 100 buddies for free accounts and 200 for member accounts. This limit might be raised in the future, but for now we needed to fix this problem before it got any bigger. If you have a huge buddy list, please manually edit it, or email your penguin name to support@clubpenguin.com and ask to have it reset.
Great news!: Because we are releasing so many new items and a furniture catalog coming tomorrow, we wanted to make it even easier to buy all that cool stuff! So, we have decided to more than double the coin payout in every game! Now before you faint with happiness, just take a deep breath and go play your favorite game to earn more coins than ever!

Hello Penguins!
Well, the new igloo catalog was released today! There have been a few new items added, including Christmas decorations. That’s right, Club Penguin is entering “that most wonderful time of the year!” So, its time to set up that Christmas tree, hang the wreath, and light the fireplace. We will be running an igloo decorating contest later in December, so dust off that Martha Stewart magazine and get decorating.
In other news:
We fixed a couple of bugs while we were at it.
– The free account colors should be changing properly now.
– The igloo bug that was caused by jumping in and out of igloos quickly was fixed by bringing up the map to decide where you want to go when you leave an igloo.

Hello Penguins!
We have officially launched our first expansion to Sled Racing! Sure it was always one of the best games in Club Penguin, but we decided to make it even better!
Now there are 4 races, each with different difficulty levels and with a different number of players so you can race against lots of other penguins, or just race your buddy for fun.
In other news:
We also have fixed a couple more bugs and we launched the auto-disconnect feature. Basically, this tool will disconnect you from Club Penguin if you haven’t done anything for more than 10 min. This way if you run out of your house and forget to disconnect from Club Penguin, don’t worry, we will do it for you. 🙂

CAPTURED!!
This just in! Over the past week, we have had reports of “little fluffy things” being spotted in the Snow Forts, Night Club, and Hockey Rink. At first we didn’t take it seriously, but late last night one was captured as proof that they do exist! So far they seem to be safe and actually a little friendly. We will continue to study the captured animal and let you know what we find out.

Hello Penguins,
We thought we would surprise you this week with one of the most exciting changes yet!
Starting today, you can upgrade your igloo by changing its color or its size. And don’t worry, we plan on offering even more options in the future!
In other news, we have captured a few more “little fluffy things” and we let one out of its cage into a closed room and so far they seem to be safe. In fact, it was so happy to be let out of its cage, it immediately jumped for joy as a little tear trickled down its cheek. More news tomorrow as it develops.

THEY’RE SAFE!!!
Hello Penguins!
Well, after many hours of investigation and even more hours of testing we have discovered that these new creatures are completely harmless! In fact, many of the Club Penguin scientists have even described them as “cute.”
We have also figured out a safe and effective way of capturing the creatures and right now we are quickly building facilities to hold these little guys.
One scientist was quoted as saying “we’ve been able to catch so many of them that we’re not sure what to do with them and we’re running out of space.”
Hopefully a solution will be found in the coming weeks. Until then a search has been started to figure out a name for the little guys. Club Penguin has decided to award 5000 coins and a 3 day membership (if the winner is not a member) to which ever penguin comes up with the winning name.

Testers Needed
Hello Penguins,
We have been hard at work behind the scenes working on a new server system that should be a bit faster and hopefully allow us to make even more improvements to Club Penguin.
You may be wondering, “What does this have to do with me?” Well, we would like your help testing it before we convert all of Club Penguin to it. All this means is that you log into this new area, do everything you normally do and click on everything you can, then let us know if you find any bugs.
As a “thank you” for doing this, we will add some perks to this test server throughout the week. The first is a new room has been added that will eventually have a new game. Every few days we will hide a brand new clothing item that both members and non-members can find, use, wear, and keep for their penguins. (These items will only be found on the test server.)

Pay Pal Has Been Added!
Hello Penguins,
Just a quick note to tell you that we have finally added Pay Pal to our list of payment methods. We are still working on some of the others such as SMS and Pay by phone, but hopefully this will make it easier for some of you to become members.
In other news: Check today’s newspaper for the winner of the “Name the Critter” contest. Out of almost 3000 submissions we had 3 winners.
Also, the test server has been going well and we have already squashed some big bugs. We hope to squash even more in the coming days. Thanks again for all your help!

We’ll, today’s the day you’ve all been waiting for. The announcement of the Christmas party. Things have changed a lot since our first party and the Club Penguin community is bigger than ever.
So, instead of having the party for just one day, we’re gonna make it the entire Christmas weekend! New Server!!
Hello Penguin!
Sorry for the delay in news lately, but we have been hard at work preparing a new server that is being launched tomorrow (Wednesday). Thank you to all penguins who helped with the bug squashing.
This new server will look the same as the old one, but it should be a lot faster and many of you should notice an improvement in loading times.

New Catalog!
Hello Penguins!
We just wanted to give you a quick heads up that the new catalog has been updated and has some cool new items.
In other news: The new server seems to be running well. We had some bugs in the last couple of days, but almost all of them have been resolved. We will be doing another upgrade like that in the coming weeks that should make the game even faster.
Some people thought the “lost connections” were a virus, but I assure you they were not. We were having to reset the server in order to quickly fix bugs. Thanks for your patience with that.

Two Big Changes!
Hello Penguins!
Two big changes today!
First, we have updated the igloos to allow them to be shown on the map. We did this because people were using the buddy list to see people’s igloos and not because they were really friends. If you were one of these people, please clean up your buddy list and use the map from now on to check out igloos. If you want to make your igloo public, go to your igloo and click on the “lock” picture to make it open or closed to other penguins. Your buddy list will still be able to go there anytime. Note: It will only appear on the list when you are logged in.
Second, we have had to change the focus of this blog because the comments were getting too off topic and it was taking too long to go through the hundreds of comments each day. That meant less time for working on Club Penguin. So from now on this area is going to be used for development news only. That means we will post any updates that we are making to Club Penguin and will continue to post your comments about those updates. Any comments that are not related to the update won’t be posted. Please continue to submit your ideas, what you like about the updates and what you don’t like so we can make Club Penguin better. Please don’t submit the names of your buddies that you are mad at this week. I hope this makes sense.
If you are looking for the latest Club Penguin news, please read the “in game” newspaper that comes out every Thursday. We will soon be delivering daily updates in game as well.

Huge Party!!
Hello Penguins,
Well, its official, Club Penguin experienced its biggest day ever! Many of you noticed the slow down as our servers were trying to keep up with all the excitement. We spent most of the afternoon trying to get things moving faster. After a lot of work, we were able to increase the servers to be able to handle all those penguins! Thanks for your patience, things should be running well now.
In other news: The newspaper that was supposed to be launched this afternoon was postponed while we were working on the servers, so that should be updated soon.

A Great Success!
Hello Penguins,
We have some fun facts that we thought you would enjoy. Obviously, this was the biggest party ever in Club Penguin, but we didn’t know how big until we looked up the stats. Check it out for yourself and pat yourself on the back for being a part of Club Penguin history!
We had over 12,900 penguins visit the party.
We gave away over 10,900 Santa hats.
We gave away over 10,400 Christmas scarves.
We had over 3,500 new penguins join Club Penguin.
In other news: We kept the decorations and presents up for a few extra days so we could make sure no one missed them. We wanted as many penguins as possible to get the presents.
Thanks for making Club Penguin so much fun! A special thanks to those of you who have become members. You help us keep Club Penguin going strong.
We’re looking forward to all the new clothes, furniture, games, adventures, secrets, and other stuff coming out this next year and we hope you are too!

A New Mod!
Hello Penguins,
I just wanted to take this opportunity to introduce you to the newest member of our team…. GIZMO!!
